A wonderful New England Glass Co. Pomona cre milk pitcher with ruffled rim and wishbone feet. The pitcher is decorated with the first background etching and amber stain on the rim, handle and feet. The first background etching was designed by Joseph Locke in the 1880s and was used only for a short period of time before being replaced by the second background etching method. There is a polished pontil mark. The pitcher measures 3 1/4 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches in diameter at the top. The amber staining exhibits virtually no wear and the piece is in excellent condition.
