Here is a rare Bizen-yaki work reflecting the Kairagi glaze style (like Oni-hagi) covered in reach gold with a slver decoration at the front on this tea bowl by Ichikawa Toru enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kinsai Chawan. From his new Kinsai (gold) series dating to late 2017-.

Ichikawa Toru was born in Tokyo in 1973. Toru was apprenticed to the Bizen master Kakurezaki Ryuichi for five years before establishing his own kiln in 2015 in Okayama.He is one of Japan’s most promising young stars,already gained a strong following for his interesting textures the Multi-Colored glaze and forms.
