One of the most expertly created Shino bowl I have seen by Goto Hideki enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Nezumi Shino Chawan. This unique,energetic and powerful piece is cut and worked from a block of clay , it is easy to hold and use, and yet has the presence of contemporary ceramic sculptural art.

Goto was born in 1973 in Miyazaki in Kyushu and graduated from the Tajimi Technical High School. He has exhibited at many of Japans top galleries as well in the National Traditional Crafts Exhibition. Work by him is held in the Phoenix Art Museum, Ibaraki Ceramic Art Museum,Mino City Museum among others. His work emphasizes not only traditional themes but also given it a sculptural power that never seen before in Shino.
