Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this wonderfully detailed funerary cone from a known tomb in the Theban Necropolis. This is cone number 576 from tomb number TT 295 for the scribe Paroy, also known as Djehutymose. The cone is wonderfully inscribed and detailed with clear glyphs. Djeyhutymose was a scribe under Thuthmosis IV or Amenhotep III during the New Kingdom in Egypt. The cone itself measures 3 1/8" in diameter and 2.5" deep...

The cosmetic details, head cloth and agricultural implements are depicted in black pigment and the skin of the figure is presented in red, indicating that this shabti was for a male. The facial features on the mask are expertly rendered with a detailed nose with nostrils and a serene expression carved on the lips. This is a rare example that would have been incorporated into the cartonnage wrappings of the mummy. Relics of the Nile is very pleased to present this superb rare ancient Egyptian ushabti. This ushabti remains in choice condition and the body is completely intact. The facial features on this piece are choice and the terracotta color is very solid with traces of the original black pigment remaining.
