Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this magnificent ancient Egyptian Sarcophagus Panel. This is a finely detailed piece with all original pigment and gesso. This piece has several significant attributes. First, the scene is very detailed with a large depiction of the standing Isis. Isis is depicted wearing a superbly colored dress, with her typical ROYAL BLUE and black headcloth. Above her head is the solar disc and horn crown. The scene has colors of red, white, black, yellow, and brilliant turqoise blue. There has been some very minor loss to the gesso, but otherwise it is in extremely fine condition, especially for its age! This is a good sized example measuring approximately 105cm (about 41 inches) high. It is composed of three long planks bound together by dowels, the panel remains in excellent condition overall. Displays beautifully! Ex-Swiss Private collection. Egypt, Late Period (747 - 30 B.C.).
