Folk Art Portrait by American Artist, attributed to Sheldon Peck (1797-1868). This Portrait was purchased at a North Carolina auction from the Larew Collection. The 19th century oil on canvas portrait of a gentleman was said to be Thomas Johnston from Concord, NC (Sept. 1850). It was marked on the original canvas (relined) bought in Davie County. This Abstract Expressionist painting dates to 1957, and it has a partial signature on the lower left corner. It measures 38" x 28" and has a small amount of paint loss. Notice the bright and unique colors and with heavy inpasto brushwork. This portrait was purchased in Georgia from the West Family. The owner had been a partner in the Law Firm King and Spaulding. The portrait appears to be of a Lawyer or a Justice. This high quality portrait measures 20" x 16". It has been relined. We are researching this painting and will advise progress later. Our research indicates that this is a portrait of a young Joseph Story(1779-1845). This portrait is painted in the style of Gilbert Stuart.

William E. Plimpton (American) Sunset Painting Oil on Canvas Framed Excellent Condition. Painting measures 20" x 29 1/2".

This is a Signed and Dated Portrait by Fr. Schell. The artist trained under Thomas Eakins and his influence can be seen in this portrait. The artist was from Philadelphia and connected with the Philadelphia Fine Arts Museum. It is mounted in a new goldleaf frame and the canvas measures 24 1/2" x 20 1/2". Excellent Condition.

This is a Early 1820 Portrait of U.S Senator William Pinkney (1764-1822)of the state of Maryland. He was a outstanding Maryland Lawyer and was from Annapolis and then Baltimore. Early in our research, the Portrait appears to be in the style of Charles Willson Peale. (1741-1827). The Portrait measures 30" x 24" and is mounted in a new style gold leaf frame. The Painting has been restored and mounted on board.

I was able to match the 1956 signature to the “rather primitive notion of patterned linear repetition”, or unknown markings (which look like Hebrew) on the side of an airplane in the RFL’s drawing “AIRPLANE 1961”. Similar markings can be found on the RFL’s TEN DOLLAR BILL 1956 Lithograph...

This is a Beautiful mid 19th century portrait of a lady from Natchez, MS. Notice the detail of the portrait and the hand painted wall paper. 30" x 25" and it is mounted in its original frame. Canvas on verso stamped L.Frank - - Boston. The painting came from a private collection in Beaufort, SC. We believe this painting is done by James Reid Lambdin.

This is a early 19th century portrait of a New York Lady wearing a fur. It appears she is wearing a fur wrap. The oil on canvas portrait measures 26" 21 1/2". This miniature of George Washington was found by an advanced collector in London. We have agreed to research this miniature for the owner. The very American style of painting on ivory miniature measures 42mm x 35mm, and is mounted in its original gold frame. To date, we have sent photos of this miniature to Mount Vernon and to another advance collector in the South. We will advise more as we receive more information on this rare item.
