The size of Covered Bowl: 4 7/8" Dia x 3 1/4" High. This is very special Japanese Ko Imari Covered Bowl with intricately painted with Tsuru (crane) design around the bowl as well as on the cover. It has three Tsuru (crane) designaround the bowl. Other window design with Cherry blossom tree with fence and Kiku design. Also, two crane design inside bowl as well as inside cover. The shape of bowl is handsome. The quality of bowl and cover is very good. There is blue and white geometric design are painted. There is marking inside cover top. The condition of covered bowl excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. Cover fit well. No enamel loss, no wear of gold.I never seen inside bowl painted with crane design. Please note there is Kamahi (original kiln) spots inside cover knob area with glaze sticks. Dating the covered bowl from Late Edo, 1830-50's.
