The size of Large Imari Bowl: 15 1/8" Dia x 5 1/2" High, 38.5 cm x 14 cm
This is top quality Japanese Ko Imari Porcelain Bowl from early Meiji
Period, 1868-1912, circa around 1860-1880's. It has main background
design of Kasane Noshi and Dragon design. Noshi is happy blessing
symbols Ribbon design for the well wish when peoples getting marry.
More Noshi you have more blessing you are getting happiness.
There also total 8 crane origami design decorated in the Noshi design.
There are three window design, one with mountain cliff design
painted with the Daimyo Gyoretsu (federal lord procession),
second one with more federal lord procession over the bridge.
Third window with two men on the boat scene. The center
of bowl with two Ho-o birds with gold band design of dragon,
Outside band design of Obidome chain design. Outside bowl with
three windows of landscape design surrounded by marumon design
of crane, flower, Ho-o bird and dragon deisn are painted in fine detail.
The condition of large bowl excellent, free from any chip and crack
as well as no hairline.
