A large writing tablet amulet in stone, probably a type of feldspar, 664 - 332 BC.
Size: 32 mm. tall.
Amulets in the form of a writing tablet are unique to the Twenty-Sixth Dynasty and later. They are always rectangular in shape with a suspension tube at the top and made from green, blue, or dark-colored material, feldspar being by far the most common.
Condition: Good Very fine, intact.
Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of Eberhard Hanfstaengl (1886-1973). He was a famous German Art director and head of the Berlin National Gallery as well as other higher positions. Educated as Art Historian. Comes with COA.
