A lovely large scarab, probably made in Canaanite lands of the Levante, Early New Kingdom 16th.-15th. century BC.
A beautiful carving of a large Lion attacking a rather small feeble Human with a spear. The Lion is here probably meant to represent the Pharao and the human, could be a Levantine warrior? Very well carved base and with carvings on the back as well.
Size: 22 x 15 mm.
Condition: Near Very fine, large ancient ding to the back as seen in the pictures. The seal is largely preserved and in high relief!
Ex. G. D. collection, Berlin and Bavaria, aquired between 1930 and 1970.
Comes with COA and hard imprint!
