Old Babylonian cylinder seal, ca. 1850-1750 B.C.

The piece superbly carved and polished in a fine layered Lapis Lazuli, with lighter and darker layer and thin golden layers.

Two suppliant goddesses face each other with, between them, the king with a mace and dagger. Six-line cuneiform inscription. The signs between the figures are probably placed here because inscription was longer than pre-prepared seal design allowed for.
