A large and very impressive tomb pottery horseman, Chinese, 1368-1644 AD. The type has been thoroughly tested and was burnt approx 500 years ago, placing it in the mid Ming period, c. early-mid 16th. century.

The pottery horseman, a higher-ranking officer, was probably originally equipped with a standard of wood, that has now decayed. He is clad in body armor in blue and torquise and wears a cone- shaped helmet. He is riding a white horse with details in torquise.

A choice pair of decorative pottery figures of House Attendants, dating to Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644.

The figures are dressed in dark blue and turquoise robes and carry high hats on their heads. They both appear to be carriers of their masters carriage. They are placed on square plints. Heads and boots with pigmented colors.

Height: c. 22-23 cm.

Condition: A superb pair of pottery figures with wear for age and type.

A large, Museum Quality pottery figure of a male attendant carrying an umbrella on his back. The figure dates to Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD.

The figure is placed on throne made of Lotus flowers on the top of hexagonal plint, both in fine Sancai colours - a two-colour green and yellow glazed robe.

He wears a high hat. Finely painted facial details. Lotus thrones are very rare for Ming pottery figures.

A superb quality large pottery figure of a male attendant or official, dating to the Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644.

The figure is placed on a high hexagonal plint and wears a fine two-colour blue and turquoise glazed robe. The unglazed areas have pigmented colors in red, black and white. Finely painted facial details.

The head is attachable as often seen on the largest figures from this period.

A choice set of two farm animals as tomb pottery in the Sancai green and orange colours, dating to c. 1500-1550 AD.

Size: Bull, 12 cm. long and 10 cm. tall and Horse c. 14 cm. long and 12,5 cm. tall.

Condition: Good very fine for type and age, with uncleaned deposits of dirt. Finely preserved glaze with a nice gloss and fine age crackles, especially on the bull.

An exceptional, unusually elaborate pottery figure of a female Courtisan, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD.), dating to c. 1550-1600 AD.

Attractive lady, seen in motion, taking a step forward and clad in a large thick robe, draped halfway down, exposing her beautiful white skin. Imposing hairdress with roses and she is wearing a necklace. She holds a large incense burner, standing on a square plint. She is glazed in torquise and dark blue colours.

Ritual low food bowls or dishes for a rich Ming dynasty tomb, shaped in relief after the Chrysanthemum flower with a glaze of torquise and olive colours. Quite rarely seen as a large pottery model!

Size: Each dish measure around 130 mm. in diameter.

Condition: Extremely fine intact with a nice crackled glaze patina.

A high quality laquered and gilt bronze figure of Buddha with a crown of Buddhas on top of his head and exceptional sculptured and engraved detailos to his robe and the Lotus Throne. Swastika symbol on his chest. The buddha is laquered and gilt with much old gilt still preserved.

One of a group of very large Ming Dynasty pottery horse riders.

The figure is of a military attendant, wearing a hat and carrying a sword on hiss side. He wears a green robe with yellow sleaves -Sancai colors. The unglazed areas are covered with white and black pigmented colors.

Note that the painting is very detailed and includes wonderful thick and perfectly rendered facial features.

A highly detailed bronze buddha of a heavy thic cast with much preserved laquer and fine gilt. The bronze figure depicts Buddha with a lovely expression and exceptional sculptured and engraved details to his robe and the Lotus Throne.
