An exceptional pottery dish, Islamic and likely from the Bamiyan region, ca. 12th. century AD

A beautiful dish in opaque white ground with torqouise and black decoration. Incised sgraffiato design under glaze in the shape of medallions or flowers and a central floral petal.

Condition: Intact. A remarkable piece since it's fully covered with a beautiful pearly or silver iridescence, very attractive! Old microscopic ding to the back of rim, othervise superb and thus rare.

A superb quality Islamic bowl, Islamic, 12th century A.D. (494 AH – 597 AH). Central Asia - Bamiyan.

Turquoise glazed, pottery bowl with flaring body rising from a short foot. The sides decorated with stylized cufic caligraphy, the center with a elaborate cross.

Condition: Superb. Intact little gem that survived the ages without the usual breaks. Note the exceptional patina with 'grazing' or crackled glaze. Lots of fine iridescence that is difficult to picture.

This warrior comes from a buriel group of approx 16-24 figures all in all. We recently sold three with full TL tests from the Ralf Kotalla lab dating them to ca. 1420, during the Ming Dynasty, (1368-1644 AD).

A finely decorated Islamic pottery bowl, likely from Kashan or further east, approx 11th.-12th. century AD.

The bowl is decorated in blue and purple on a beige ground and the patina is quite stunning: Full iridescence, like ancient glass in rainbow and silver colours and a finely crackled glaze as seen in the pictures! Iridescence like this is very rarely seen on pottery and is a diffinite proof of authenticity and original surface.
