A fine pair of two stamp seals, North Mesopotamia or Syria, 5th.-4th. millenium BC.

Types are among the first seals used in the world. Simple design, one is Hemisperoid, pierced on the doomed back, the other rectangular, pierced horisontically, both carved with fine symethric designs. The retangular with carvings on both sides, the Button-shaped, incl. an impression, made by the old collector, many years ago.

A rare and interesting Cylinder seal in black stone, likely Serpentinite, Neo-Babylonian, ca. 800-600 BC

the seal carved with the image of the Great king standing with a Scimitar or Sicle sword in his right hand in front of a high doomed Alter.

This depiction is rather common on stamp seals but scarce and attractive on a cylinder! In this period stamp seals were mainly used, while Cylinders were being fased out.
