Interesting finely polished hardstone stamp seal of an early hemispheric form, late 1st. millenium BC.

The seal particularly finely polished and carved in the base with a bird.

Size: 22 mm. wide, 18 mm. tall.

Condition: Very fine, completely intact with low relief engraving.

A larger early square stamp seal in brown Serpentine, Mesopotamia, Early 3rd. millenium BC.

An attractive seal drilled to be mounted to a string and engraved with astylized figure.

Size: 27 mm. x 24 mm.

Provenance: Part of the inventory of the Coin and antiquities dealer Karl kress, Munich, 1950s.-1960s.

A scarce thinbutted Danish Neolithic silex axe, mid-late 4th mill. BC.

The axe has a rarely seen feature with a carved ring in the middle of the head. Most thinbladed axes doesn't have this kind of fitting, so this specimen must have been fastened to the shaft in a different way than usual. Maybe used as an adze.

Size is 17 cm - 6,7 inches.

Condition: Choice axe, w. smaller chips. Resharpened in antiquity. Beautiful calky, white patina.

A scarce and seldomly offered ancient stamp seal in good condition with a nice Zig-Zag design, South Caspian Sea area, 5th.-4th. millenium BC.

An low oval stone seal, as peculiar for this type is that it's symethric and does not have a flattened base with a seal engraving as is typical with the earliest seals. Carved in a brownish stone and with Zig-Zag at one side and with a few fainter engraved symbols on the other siden.

A very large and finely preserved bronze seal with a loop on the back and a cross designs, Bactria, 3rd. millenium BC.

Very impressive round seal with 4 large cross-arms in the openwork style. Interesting lot of 5 ancient miniature glass vessels, in the shape of jars, bowls and bottles, 3rd.-6th. cent. AD.

Very nice lot with iridescence, measuring up to 27 mm.

A nice head of a horse and a upperpart of d warrior with a shield on his back, Greece, Cyprus, Cypro-Archaic period 750–600 BC.

These fragments are sold without bases.

An interesting collection of 22 metal and stone antiquities dating from c. 1st mill BC to Byzantine / Medieval period.

Lot consist of 5 spindlewhorls - 4 with decorations - three in lead and two in ceramic. 15 tokens and weights in bronze and lead and finally two bronze dices.

Sizes up to 23-25 mm.

Interesting and very large cylinder seal with figures, Mesopotamia, early Pre-Dynastic period, c. 4th. mill...

Ancient Near East, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BC. A large elaborate bronze cloak pin, cast via the lost wax (cire perdue) process with poppy flower shaped terminal.

Used to fasten clothes, in this case due to the unusually heavy fabric and decoration, likely leather for presentation use - perhaps for a very thick cape or leather armor. The lower terminal decorated with a star in the bottom, knobs and 3 spikes, and decorated with concentric lines and criss-cross patterns.

A nice tanged bronze lance from Ancient Near East, East Caspian Sea Area, 2nd. mill BC.

The lance with rouned shoulders and a defined, central midrib, interesting thick tang.

Size: c. 21,5 cm.

Condition: Nice Very fine, wear, but nice metal. Beautiful red patination.

A fine condition scaraboid stamp seal, Middle Assyrian Empire, c. 1400-1100 BC.

The seal engraved with an interesting egyptianized motif which is probably representing three animals.

The seal is carved and highly polished to it's scaraboid shape in a fine greenish black stone.

Size: 14 mm. long and 19 mm wide, 8 mm. tall.

Condition: Good Very fine, atttractive!.
