A high quality trapezoid stamp seal of the Neo-Babylonian type, 8th.-6th. cent. AD.

unusual and very beatiful stone used to carve this accomplished seal in antiquity. The stone is a banded agate with red inclusions, carved and polished in a an octagonal and pyramidal shape.

The seal engraved with a springing stagg or deer.

Size: 20 mm. tall and 18 mm. wide at the base.

Condition: Choice and intact, minor ancient wear.

A wonderful massive seal with fine engravings, 4th.-3rd. mill. BC.

With the almost square seal plate and the type of handle this seal is the proto-type of the later Neo-Hittite seals, but this one much earlier. The base engraved with a large Deer with large Antler and on top, a smaller stag or horned animal, and a 3rd. animal in the corner, perhaps a hunting dog.

A pair of attractively patinated and larger axes, both dating to the Time of the Great Burielmounts, 4th. millenium BC.

The lot includes larger axes, sizes are 18 cm. and 17 cm. in length respectively

Condition: Nice, average for type with minor chips to the edges, exceptional marsh patina on both - brown and amber colours.

This lot comes with a standard export license, when shipped outside Denmark...

A very interesting, large and thick block-shaped seal in black serpentine, Mesopotamian, c. 3rd. mill. BC., could be a bit later (?)

Drill style carving in high relief, very precise and still difficult to sort out, probably an animal but we're not certain. Also see mr. Oberlánders drawing of this motif.

Size: 28 mm. in length and 21 mm. wide, 13 mm. thick.

Condition: VF, some wear smaller losses, basically intact...

A fine stamp seal in a lovely stone quality, East Anatolia / West Mesopotamia, c. later 2nd. millenium BC.

Splendid and mottled & veined green stone engraved with a Lion and triangular spearpont-like symbols. Late Gable form

Condition: Extremely fine, completely intact and with deposits.

A fine larger blackstone stamp seal of the gable form, popular in Northern Mesopotamia and Anatolia in the Ubaid period, 4th. mill. BC.

The seal shows a horned animal in a strongly archaic style.

Interesting cross hanger, carved in a dark steatite stone, with white slip or glazing. The white cross form is inlaid with another red cross form in sandstone or ceramics and done with an extra cross bar. Christian Egypt, 100-500 AD, probably Coptic.

Size: 11,7 cm. tall and 9,7 cm. wide.

Condition: Choice and intact with wear to the white glaze and extensive patination.

Attractive steatite scarab of the New Kingdom period, inscribed with the royal name / cartouche of Thutmosis III, 1504-1450 BC

Carved in greyish steatite with fine details of the beetle.

Size: 16 mm. long.

Condition: Nice Very fine, intact with a microscopic chip to the edge, patina with web-like crackles.

Ex. G. D. collection, Berlin and Bavaria, aquired between 1930 and 1970.

A lovely large scarab, probably made in Canaanite lands of the Levante, Early New Kingdom 16th.-15th. century BC.

A beautiful carving of a large Lion attacking a rather small feeble Human with a spear. The Lion is here probably meant to represent the Pharao and the human, could be a Levantine warrior? Very well carved base and with carvings on the back as well.

A beautiful stamp seal in the form of a reclining cow, carved in a glossy hard white stone with extreme polishing, Jemdet Nasr, 3300-2900 BC.

The stamp is carved on the sealing surface with two globules. Interesting very small seal, incredibly nicely carved in such a small size!

Length c. 10 mm. wide.

Condition: Extremely fine for type and age.

Provenance: The Karl Müller collection, Germany 1950-1977. Comes with COA and hard imprint.

A large round stamp seal with a rare depiction engraved in the base, Mesopotamian 4th.-3rd. mill. BC.

The seal is engraved with a Capride springing in the forrest as if in flight, struck and pierced through by two spears. The seal is carved in stone with a small handle.

A scarce large square stamp seal with finely carved handle, Neo-Hittite states of Eastern Anatolia / Western Mesopotamia, c. 1200-800 BC.

The seal square and carved with a large animal and smaller animal above, there's also a symbol or a bird in the corner and all within a frame.

Unusually large and attractive seal.

Size: 24 mm. x 22 mm. in diameter of the base and 15 mm. tall.

A fine and substantial Roman terra sigillata pitcher, probably Nothern Africa, c. 4th. cent. AD.

Attractive vessel in a nice redish colour, low slung discus-shaped type, probably for wine.

Size: 16 cm. tall and 15,5 cm. wide of the fat belly.

Condition: Good Very fine, much preserved red slip and only a few tiny chips to the very rim.

An interesting lot of three ancient Bronze weapons from the Near East. Luristan, 2nd.-1st mill BC.

The lot consist of a tanged dagger, 19 cm., a large, tanged javelin, also 19 cm. and a tanged lance 22-23 cm.

All three items come with nice patinas andin choice condition.

A very attractive unpolished Danish neolithic axe of the Single Grave slender type, dating c. 2800-2400 BC.

Very nicely knapping details on the sides and several old collection tags! The axe has finding date in black ink given as 4. september 1924, found in 'Hestehave'.

Condition: Near EF. Choice axe with near perfect edges and a nice frosty bluish-grey patina.

A nearly superb Danish neolithic Sickle dating to around Daggertime, 2400-2000 BC.

Beautifully knapped sickle with sharp edges and a glossy blade.

Size is 8,5 cm. - c. 3,5 inches.

Condition: Nearly superb - with only a few very small chips to the edges. Fantastic amber patina.

A lovely and rare stamp seal depicting two horned animals mating, West-Mesopotamia, c. 2nd.-1st. mill. BC.

The seal is exceptionally well-carved for the type with a four-side and pierced handle atop of the rectangular base. The stone is even dark green. Rare depiction!
