A nicely engraved steatite stone scarab, Egypt New Kingdom, c. 1539–1075 BC.

Stylized with incised features such as the clypeus, prothorax and elytra marked by single lines. Decorated to the reverse with stylised geometric swirls and loop patterns. The amulet is pierced longitudinally for suspension.

A rare and attractive early Egyptian vessel / beaker, dating to the Old Kingdom, 2649 - 2150 BC.

The conical beaker with a wide flat rim and craved in finely banded alabaster.

Size: 68 mm. tall. and 62 mm. wide over the rim.

Condition: Very fine for the very rare type, with small chip to the rim restored.

Ex. Old German collection, aquired 1960s-1970s.

A finely engraved Hyksos scarab, 17th.-16th. cent. BC.

The scarab is engraved with robe pattern in the center and with other hieroglyphs to each side, untranslated.

The seat of power of the Hyksos kings was the city of Avaris in the Nile Delta, from where they ruled over Lower Egypt and Middle Egypt up to Cusae.

Size: 19 x 13,5 mm.

Condition: Nice Very fine and completely intact with remnants of torquise glaze in the devices.

Scarce and attractive steatite scarab of the New Kingdom period, inscribed with the royal name / cartouche of Seti I, 1294-1279 BC.

Carved in greyish steatite with fine details of the beetle and inscribed with 'men ka re'. Thanks to a good collector friend reassigned from Thutmosis (men kheper re)

Size: c. 15 mm. long.

Condition: Extremely fine, particularly sharp and finely preserved specimen, patina with web-like crackles.

A nice scarab seal semi-naturalistic form with fine details of a scarab, Hyksos Period, Dynasty 15th -17th. 1786 – 1650 BC.

Interesting hieroglyphs inside an oval frame.

An extremely rare scarab seal, carved as an Udjat eye in grey-brown steatite, Egypt, New Kingdom, c. 15th.-14th. cent.

The eye is carved with great artistry, to creat a perfect Udjat eye with fine details and on the base, three strong hieroglyphs of the Ankh for giving Life the Uraeus and erect Cobra and lastly the flat Sun-disc.

The Ureaeus was the symbol of the Godess Wadjet and was used as a sign of Royal authority associated with Pharaos and gods...

An interesting and quite attractive small limestone figure of a Noble Lady, New Kingdom, ca. 1300–1200 B.C.

The lady’s attire and hairstyle are typical of the fashion after the second half of the 18th Dynasty...

Interesting cross hanger, carved in a dark steatite stone, with white slip or glazing. The white cross form is inlaid with another red cross form in sandstone or ceramics and done with an extra cross bar. Christian Egypt, 100-500 AD, probably Coptic.

Size: 11,7 cm. tall and 9,7 cm. wide.

Condition: Choice and intact with wear to the white glaze and extensive patination.

An good Two-finger amulet, Egypt, Late Period, 664 - 322 B.C.

The stylized amulet carved in grey-black stone.

Size: 29-30 mm. long.

Condition: Good Very fine, intact with minor wear and fine patination.

Two-finger amulets were used for the dead and were often found on the lower left of the torso. This is the area of the incision that was made during the mummification process in order to remove the internal organs...

The somewhat stylized scarab finely carved in the base with an eye form.

A lovely patinated amulet in crystalized white stone, probably marble, Egypt, 2nd.-1st. mill. BC.

Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of Eberhard Hanfstaengl (1886-1973). He was a famous German Art director and head of the Berlin National Gallery as well as other higher positions. Educated as Art Historian. Comes with COA.

A lovely large scarab, probably made in Canaanite lands of the Levante, Early New Kingdom 16th.-15th. century BC.

A beautiful carving of a large Lion attacking a rather small feeble Human with a spear. The Lion is here probably meant to represent the Pharao and the human, could be a Levantine warrior? Very well carved base and with carvings on the back as well.

The fine jar, ovoid in form with a pointed base and a collar at the mouth.

Condition: Nice Very fine, small chips to the rim and minor wear, othervise intact.

A finely polished and fully symethric Egyptian stone jar made of a type of beautiful chlorite stone, 3rd.-2nd. mill. BC.

The jar was used to hold cosmethics in the 3rd.-2nd. millenium BC. Nice marks of drill inside, recessed footring and a tiny rim also carved!

Condition: Good Very fine, fine quality jar.

A nice terracotta head of Bes, fragmentary and corroded, but substantial and with fine classic features, Egyptian, Late-Roman Period, 500-100 AD. Comes attached to the original German gift letter from the 1920s-1930s.
