An interesting lot of three ancient Bronze weapons from the Near East. Luristan, 2nd.-1st mill BC.

The lot consist of a tanged dagger, 19 cm., a large, tanged javelin, also 19 cm. and a tanged lance 22-23 cm.

All three items come with nice patinas andin choice condition.

An interesting small collection of Danish Neolithic / Mesolithic axes.

The lot consist of two early, Mesolithic axes from the hunter / gatherer period. Along with these, three smaller axes from later Neolithic period, 2500-2000 BC: A smaller thinbutted axe, a specialized small axe / chisel and a neolithic imitation of an early type of bronze axe.

Sizes: 9-13,5 cm.

Condition: Nice axes with smaller chips. Nice patinas.

A nice pair of Danish neolithic chisels dating to Daggertime, 2200-2000 BC.

Interesting neolithic tools with specialized shapes. One with a nearly symmetrical design, the othe with a rounded and hollow edge.

Both are nicely polished and could easily be used today.

Sizes: 10 & 12 cm. - 4 & 4,7 inches.

Condition: Choice. with a few ancient chips. Very nice greyish patinas.

A nice pair of Danish Neolithic silex Daggers. The daggers date to early Daggertime - c. 2200-2000 BC.

Skillfully shaped, thin blades with 'seamed' edges.

A scarce specimen of a Danish Neolithic Axe with a pointed neck, dating to 3500-2500 BC.

This type of axe were one of the early developments from the from the primitive core axes of the hunters and gatherers. It is found alongside the thinbutted axes, and most finds are in the eastern parts of Denmark.

This specimen is unpolished, could be an unfinished 'prework'...

A choice tanged bronze lance, Ancient Near East, c. mid 2nd. mill B.C. Turkmenistan / Uzbekistan bronze age.

A decorative bronze lance with a long, straight tang, massive socket and a broad, leaf-shaped blade with highly profiled midrib.

A beautiful lance that would have been highly efficient on combat.

Size: c. 32,5 cm. long.

Condition: Choice. Beautiful green bronze patina. Some roughness to the edge.

A nearly superb Danish neolithic Sickle dating to around Daggertime, 2400-2000 BC.

Beautifully knapped sickle with sharp edges and a glossy blade.

A nice pair of Danish Neolithic axes dating to 4th-3rd mill BC.

The pair consist of:

1. a thinbuttet axe dating to 3500-3000 BC. Almost fully polished with beautiful mottled amber and brown patina. Size is 15,5 cm - 6,1 inches.

2. A thinbladed axe, c 2500 BC - a period were the production of flint tools became more specialized. 12 cm. - 4,7 inches. Fully polished with nice and glossy grey patination.

Symmetrically shaped blade, polished on all four sides with very smooth surfaces.

Size is 21,5 cm. - c. 8,5 inches.

Condition: A choice axe with a chip to the edge. Otherwise as made.

Here’s a really large Neolithic greenstone Axe from the early Funnel Beaker Culture, dating to around 4000-3500 BC.

A massive axe in hand, weighing 3,1 kg. on the kitchenweight.

The axe is made out of greenstone that was polished into the four-sidet shape. 10-12 cm from the edge, the axe ‘hollows’, indicating the place where the axe was fastened to the shaft.

Fine hand axe from Northern Africa, Sahara Desert, Neolithic period, ca. 10,000 to 6000 BC.

A finely knapped bifacial in a lovely pinky-brown silex or chert, with inclusions. Partly polished gloss section.

During this time period, weather conditions called the Neolithic Subpluvial meant that the Sahara was a green, fertile landscape, ideal for hunter and gathering cultures.

Here's a pair of Thinbutted Danish Neolithic Axes dating to late 4th mill. BC.

Thinbutted axes were the preferred tool for clearing land, as the Neolithic civilisation came in the need of fields for cultivation.

Both axes in this pair are nice specimens from this development, and have probably contributed to gaining new ground for early Danish agriculture.

The axes measure 14 & 15 cm each, (c. 6 inches) but it is not unlikely that they were larger originally. ...

A scarce thinbutted Danish Neolithic silex axe, mid-late 4th mill. BC.

The axe has a rarely seen feature with a carved ring in the middle of the head. Most thinbladed axes doesn't have this kind of fitting, so this specimen must have been fastened to the shaft in a different way than usual. Maybe used as an adze.

Size is 17 cm - 6,7 inches.

Condition: Choice axe, w. smaller chips. Resharpened in antiquity. Beautiful calky, white patina.

Atttractive larger hand axe from Northern Africa, Sahara Desert, Neolithic period, ca. 10,000 to 6000 BC.

A finely knapped bifacial axe with finely curving shape to a thick center and done in a fine pinky-brown and grey silex or chert. Partly polished glossy, especially on the sharp bit.

A small coll. of four Danish Neolithic Daggertime blades, dating to around 2200-2000 BC.

The lot consist of a small spear, 8,5 cm. Two fragments of daggers, 9 & 6,5 cm and a toothedged sickle / saw, measuring 12 cm.

An interesting collection of nice neolithic blades and fragments.

Condition: The spear is intact, the other pieces are large fragments. Nice patinas and old collection tags on all pieces.

A carefully formed firestone in a fine grained stone, dating to Ironage, Pre Roman Period, c. 1st - 4th cent AD

Firestones were used to produce sparks in combination with an iron striker.

This specimen measure c. 10,5 cm in length.

It has a nice oval / elliptic with a furrow in the middle to be carried in a rope.
