A very nice untouched Hungarian Wheellock Musketeer's powder flask, circa. 16th century. Stag horn body with wrought brass mounts.

The staghorn is engraved and there's a beautiful central medallion on the front with a geomethric hexagonal star-shaped design, especially known from Byzantine Emprire, c. 10th.-12th. cent. Beautiful patina!

A beautiful and rare powder flask, late renaissance, Early type of the mid 16th. century.

The iron mounted flask was finely made with impressed corduan leather on an oakwood case. The flask engraved with the monogram of the German Knights of the Teotonic Order (T.O.V.R = Deutch Orden Ritter). On the other side, it's decorated with the artful crowned monogram of a noble member of order, the letters intertwinned are 'MNV', and the crown is probably that of a Count...
