A highly interesting Zoomorhic silver figure, Ancient Near East, likely Islamic, 8th.-10th. century, but could be earlier!

The figure with two foreparts of Quadruped, looks like a horse and an antilope, and two engraved animals on the hunched back (center of the figure). With two very study thickening legs Looks like it was made some alloy of silver, finely patinated.

The figure could have been made during the Early Seljugs of Khorassan...

Interesting and rare type of broad bronze short-sword or large Parazonium, Greco-Persian period, ca 600 BC.

High quality blade of bronze, deeply ridged in a complicated pattern and with a short tang for the handle, now lost.

Size: ca 33,5 cm. long and up to 7 cm. broad! (max.)

Condition: Intact, nice metal, though with some corrosion and uncleaned encrustations. Small ding to the edge. Fine vivid green patina.

The axe is polished on both side leaving the smaller edges or sides unpolished. A symethric and beautifully polished axe with a fine ancient greyish patina. The axe has been in several old collection hence the different collection numbers in black and red ink.
