An superb mint condition Silex Axe from the Daggertime, Late Danish Neolithic period, ca. 2400-2000 BC.

A scarce Adze made to be mounted horisotically to the shaft. Very skillful knapping with fine seams on all edges, the bit knapped concave for woodworking purposes. Very attractive and high quality Silex, patinated in the finest red and gream brown colour.

The axe is unpolished and made of a very calcky Damian flint. Very well executed and impressive in hand.

The thickbutted axes began to replace the thebutted types in the last part of the 4th mill. and became the dominant during the first millenium BC.

An Egyptian Alabaster Cosmetic Vessel, Middle Kingdom, ca. 2040-1786 BC.

Used for storing kohl (eye paint), this nice squat jar of greyish stone has smooth convex sides that swell upward from a small, footed base into a high shoulder leading to a wide rim.

As is common with this type of vessel, drilling of the interior is narrow and does not conform to the shape of the body.
