A finely knapped dagger with a 4 side handle with visible seams, broad blade. Very attractive piece.

Condition: Near Mint, small ancient chip to the edge high on the blade, but intact point. Brown patina with frosty white surfaces on one side.

A rare and absolutely choice Danish Neolithic Silex dagger, dating to Daggertime, ca. 1800 BC.

This dagger is a rare variant of the latest fase dagger which sometimes carry a fishtail handle. On this dagger the handle is straight but very finely knapped and flat profile like the late fistails, seams on the edges.

The piece is from Luxor and purchased on the site in the 1960s. A spectacular piece that we initially sought was made of faiance, but it's very heavy and the terric Sun ray pattern on the back is surely carved, not mould cast.
