Highly interesting offering dish, Egyptian, 2nd.-1st. millenium BC.

The piece is from Luxor and purchased on the site in the 1960s. A spectacular piece that we initially sought was made of faiance, but it's very heavy and the terric Sun ray pattern on the back is surely carved, not mould cast. Glazed on the front with green-blue glaze. The back is basically a Sun disc, so a dating around the reign of Akhenaten, 14th. century BC...

Here’s a really large Neolithic greenstone Axe from the early Funnel Beaker Culture, dating to around 4000-3500 BC.

A massive axe in hand, weighing 3,1 kg. on the kitchenweight.

The axe is made out of greenstone that was polished into the four-sidet shape. 10-12 cm from the edge, the axe ‘hollows’, indicating the place where the axe was fastened to the shaft.

An elegant and interesting tall hardstone vessel in black stone, of tappering form and one duck-shaped handle, likely dating to the Late Period, 500-100 BC.

The vessel expertly hollowed with quite thin walls and raised rim.

Interestingly, the jar was carved or created out of two fingers from a larger structure, either a statue or perhaps a very large 'two-fingers' amulet(?), made in the 2nd. millenium BC.
