Egyptian faiance figure of Bes, Late Period, likely the Ptolemaic Dynasty (305 - 30 BC).

Faiance figure of Bes, the Dwarf-god. With the refined classical features of the late period in Egyptian art.

Size: 38 mm. incl. the costum made stepped Podium. The figure is permanently mounted and the base of the figure is embedded into the podium.

Condition: Headdress lost, a minor chips. Finely patinated and from an old collection.

Highly interesting Roman pottery Oillamp with a makers mark of the Foot with destinct toes, 1st. century AD!

Beautiful fine quality piece decorated with wine and grapes, central rosette, knob handle. This Makers mark was used in the later part of the 1st. century AD, but it's the first time we've seen it with distict toes as well.

Size: 7,7 cm.

Condition: Superb, sharp, better than pictures.

A pair of one very large and one smaller Early Christian Terracotta oillamps, North African, likely Carthage, ca. 4th-5th Century AD.

A large oil lamp with a bird in leaves on the discus and symbols around the discus, knob handle and one filling holes.

The bowl is very attractive with it's wide rim and flat base. The rim slight turned.

The bowl was possibly used as a drinking bowl or for smaller meals in antiquity.

A large and beautiful Egyptian Steatite Scarab, mid 2nd. millenium BC-Late Period.

Interesting piece with the double Uraeus or rearing Cobra snake in high relief.

The Uraeus was used as a symbol of sovereignty, royalty, deity and divine authority in ancient Egypt. The pharaoh was recognized only by wearing the Uraeus, which conveyed legitimacy to the ruler. There is evidence for this tradition even in the Old Kingdom during the third millennium BC.
