A very large and highly interesting Mesopotamian amulet of a cow, ca. jemdet Nasr 3200-3000 BC.

A very large amulet carved in one piece of shell, where the artist have preserved the outer layer of Mother of pearl. Very nicely done. The amulet is carved in the shape of a cow or bull with folded horns and incised circles on the surface. Two holes drilled for mounting it in antiquity.

Size: ca. 62 mm. long and 48 mm. high. Iridicent on both sides.

The Botthe with an eaborately made mouth or spout and a long neck and a wide bell-shaped corpus. The bottom is concave. In green glass.

Interesting and rare Egyptian stone weight, New Kingdom, 1550 - 1069 B.C.

The weight is relatively large and heavy and carved and superbly polished in a fine mottled black and grey hardstone.

Size: 4,8 cm. and 2,3 cm. high. Weight: 109,5 grams!

Provenance: Jytte Soelberg Private Collection, bought in the 1970-1980 from a much older collection of a Danish Engineer, travelling in Egypt in the 1960s.
