The amulet in the form of the Ibis head or beak of Thot, finely polished with splendid detail in a very hard black stone. Slightly curving and with a raised upper section of the beak as two indicate the natural shape - very finely made!

Highly interesting offering dish, Egyptian, 2nd.-1st. millenium BC.

The piece is from Luxor and purchased on the site in the 1960s. A spectacular piece that we initially sought was made of faiance, but it's very heavy and the terric Sun ray pattern on the back is surely carved, not mould cast. Glazed on the front with green-blue glaze. The back is basically a Sun disc, so a dating around the reign of Akhenaten, 14th. century BC...

An unusually large and well-preserved Egyptian wooden 'mummy' mask, Late Period, c. 664 – 332 BC, or facial portion from a sarcophagus lid, depicting a male wearing a headdress with a winged Scarab. A very rare intact terracotta stamp seal of the New Kingdom in Egypt, 16th-11th century BC.

This type of large-format oval stamp seal was regularly used for sealing jar stoppers and bricks. Only a few have survived in this terrific condition with fully readable Hierglyphs. The seal is Carthouche-shaped so it likely contains a name of a Ruler, but so far untranslated. The glyphs includes 'Son Of Ra' and a large coiled Cobra. A large handle on the back.
