Spendid stamp seal, carved in fine translucent and slightly bluish Calchedon, Neo-Babylonian, 7th.-6th. century BC.

A hardstone ellipsoid stamp seal with design depicting a standing bearded robed male, worshipper or perhaps a priest, facing the Alter of Marduk, crescent above.

Size: 23 mm. high (wrongly described as 29 mm.)

A huge prehistoric gable seal, one of the largest known, Mesopotamia or Syria, ca. 5th.-4th. millenium BC.

A rectangular seal in hard black Serpentine stone, engraved with two stags. Wonderful quality engraving and the medium among the best of the early period. With it's approx 7 cm. in length and 4 cm. wide, one of the absolutely largest early seals in existence. We checked the Erlenmeyer collection and could only find one other seal larger than this, of another type of decoration...

Italian bronze inkwell. Venice, 16th century. Venice or Padua, ca. 1550 AD.

A finely made inkwell in a typical North Italian style, with finely cast and engraved details. A tripod resting on legs formed as Eagles with spread wings.

Size: 13,5 cm. wide and 7,5 cm. tall.

Condition: Choice, a few minor flaws and a small hole in the bottom, possible a flaw from the making, that was filled once. Very fine dark green bronze patina.

A rare Bactrian bronze short swort or dagger w. massive handle, dating to late 3rd or early 2nd mill. BC. Very interesting type with an unusually thick handle and a very broad leaf-shaped blade.

The dagger is partly uncleaned and covered in the fine green patina.

Interesting set of two very different but rare and beautiful pottery Oillamps, Roman, early Imperial period, 1st.-2nd. century AD.

The first oillamp is a rare type; a terracotta version of the typical bronze lamps of the 2nd. century AD, elongated form and finely decorated with loop handle.

The second lamp a fine early discus shaped type and stamped with the full workshop (makers) name in the base - Marcus Novius.
