Impressive patinated Danish neolithic offeraxe, dating to the Time of the Great Buriel-mounts, c. 3000 BC.

The axe is very broad and quite long, of a transitional type of large flintaxes, made for ritual or buriel purpose in the middle-later Neolithic period, just prior to the Single Grave period.

A thinbutted type with exceptional pinky and grey patina.

Fine symethric work with nice stiching (seams).

AN UMAYYAD POTTERY PILGRIM BOTTLE, Iraq, circa 8th century AD.

The flattened disc-shaped flask with simple loop handles and tubular mouth, turquoise glazed.

Size: 9 cm high.

'Condition: Superb for type and extremely rare. A slightly larger bottle sold at Christies SALE 6628 LOT 23 for $3731 at the rates of the day. Our bottle has much more glaze and thus at least as good!
