Large Early Etruscan black ware bowl with handle 700 - 650 B.C.

Elegant bowl with cordon-decor on the rim.

Size: Diameter 17,8 cm. and height 7,8 cm.

Condition: Choice and intact, a few tiny chips to the rim.

Ex. Collection Prawitz, Hessen, Germany and bought between 1960 and 1970.

A fine low bowl with ringfoot and stamped rosette of Black Glazed ware. Italy, 3rd - 2nd century B.C.

An attractive bowl. Small chip to the glaze at the rim, othervise completely intact!

Size: 13,2 cm. (diameter), 5 cm. tall.

Nice greco-roman pottery head of deity, 2nd. cent. BC-1st. cent. AD.

Finely made in terracota; 4 cm. wide and 4 cm. tall.

Ex. Franz Xaver Geiger, Baden-Württemberg, 1960-1980.

An extremely rare and important Etruscan offer bowl (omphalos), made in thick terracotta glazed pottery, 400-300 BC.

This shallow terracotta bowl is moulded after bronze vessels and has a dome-like omphalos emerging from its interior. Around the omphalos are deep relief decorations. Very rare in terracotta.

The exterior is finely glazed and the bowl has two holes for hanging, typical for the Etruscan ware.

Size: ca. 20,5-21 cm....

Ancient Greek. Campanian, c. 4th Century BC.

A highly attractive Campanian black-glazed dish with impressed floral design at the center. The piece with a finely preserved glaze and slight iridescence.

Diameter: 14,5 cm.

Condition: Choice nearly superb but with a minimal chip to the underside of the rim, only visible from the back.

Ex German collection, aquired between 1972-1994.

A very beautiful head of an armored horse Greece, Cyprus, Cypro-Archaic period 750–600 BC.

The finely made head with remnants of pigments It's drilled for mounting in the bottom but does not come with a base.

A large for type attachment from a brazier, a pottery container for fire, molded within a rectangular framework and set vertically with the head of Silenos, his long full beard extended forward to form support for a vessel.

Size: 14 cm. wide and 12 cm. tall.

A very impressive and extremely rare sculptural plaque in pottery, Greek, ca. 2nd. century BC.

Gorgoneion is depicted in 3D on top with wings and a lovely expression, the round Aegis below.

Size: 18 cm. wide and the head 4,5 cm. deep and 7-8 cm. tall.

Condition: Intact in all it's parts. The Aegis reassembled from fragments.

A lovely Greek pottery figure of a goose or duck in red terracotta with remnants of white pigments, 4th.-3rd. century BC.

An interesting and attractive figure of the bird on a rock.

Condition: Superb.

An interesting, small collection of ancient pottery items from a range of cultures, incl. Greece and Rome, 600 BC-200 AD.

The collection consist of:

- a rare pottery sieve restored from several large pieces, Roman 1st.-3rd. century AD
- a large shard of pottery decorated with a high relief face of Appollon, Greek hellenistic period (fragmentary)
- A very large pottery sharp, which is a side of a mega-vessel, decorated with early Greek decoration, probably c...

Interesting pottery flute in the shape of a bird. Greek dating to c. 600 BC.

The body is very nicely detailed with naturalistic bird features.

An old collection tag on the base: "No. 000693, v. Hassermann-Jordan Deidesheim."

Condition: A nice fragment with the head missing.

Choice grey pottery terracotta oil lamp with profiled ring handle and sharp decoration of rosettes on the sides, Greek hellenistic, c. 3rd.-2nd. century BC.

Choice grey pottery terracotta oil lamp with profiled ring handle and a discus shaped body, Greek hellenistic, c. 3rd.-1st. century BC.

This lamp was made as an 'imitation' of the metal lamps of the period, but in pottery for the lower classes!

Size: c.10,5 cm. long.

Condition: Good Very fine and intact.

An interesting pair of ancient Greek wheel-made pottery lamps in orange clay, dating to 4th-1st cent AD.

Both lamps with a central, conical tube. The concave rim turned inwards and rounded short nozzles with large wick holes. Old collection tags on both pieces

Size: 5 & 6 cm across at the nozzle.

Condition: Choice and intact lamps with wear for type and age.
