A very rare and massive Assyrian cylinder seal, ca. 9th.-7th. BC.

The seal is carved in a wonderful clean white marble showing a contest scene of a four-winged hero in the centre, facing right, flanked by two mythical winged 4-legged beast, which he grasp by the forelegs.

Wonderful depiction and at the same time a very unusual and superb seal for the Neo-Assyrian period!
