Interesting and very old carving, likely for wearing as decoration, Himalayan or Indian (?), c. 19th. century (could be older).

The carving depicts a dancing Deity, which looks like from Hindu world, or perhaps Himalayan. The deity is centerpiece and flanked by two decorated panels seperated with carved beads. We bought this extremely fine piece as part of a vast collection of only antiquities. The piece has a fine genuine patina in almost orange of the back...

A wonderful lot of two higher quality Thailand, Sukhothai, fertility figurines, ca. 15th. century AD.

A fine lot with two different female figurines in celadon glace, seated one holding children, the other something else against her very large breasts. In Thai custom, such figurines were used in ceremonies connected with rain and fertility, see Guérin & van Oenen 2005: 263, plate 386.

Large and rare early Sukhothai / Sawankhalok figurine of a mother breastfeeding her child in brown glace, ca. 14th.-15th. century AD.

Interesting this figure is larger and more impressive than the usual figurines, huge breast and at her chin a swelling, indicating that she's chewing some kind of drug like betel. High headdress.

A scarce lot of no less than 4 Thailand, Sukhothai, fertility figurines, ca. 15th. century AD, with some earlier ones perhaps.

A fine lot with all different male and female figurines in brown and celadon glace.

Sizes: 10-12 cm.

Condition: Choice, 3-4 heads ritually attached in the burial as usual for the fertility idols, now professionally restored so that the repair is difficult to spot.

Figurine water dropper of a squatting hunchbacked man with a chignon, wearing a dotted sarong in underglaze iron brown; spout as the right hand. Thailand, late 15th or early 16th. century AD.

An extremely rare and impressive bronze figure of a young Buddha seated on a Lion, Ming Dynasty 1368-1644 AD.

The Buddha is massive and heavy, even for the size, made in a bronze alloy now finely patinated with the typical uncleaned dark bronze tone.

The figure is bald, clad in robes and with a serene facial expression. The Lion highly detailed and with a fearsome expression, engraved in the typical Ming manor. Interior is very encrusted and oxidated.
