A scarce and unusual Wrist rest in a fine veined Nephrite Jade, China, ca. 17th.-19th. century.

The rest carved in the shape of a scroll and was used to rest the wrist while painting miniature painting. The carving in a very fine black and mottled greyish jade with fine redish veins. The surface of the upperside carved with scrolls, almost entirely worned off in parts of the surface.
