Interesting and rare lifesize Japanese Demon stone mask of granite, Azuchi-Momoyama to early Edo period c. 16th.-17th. century AD.

The mask made in a heavy granite type of stone, finely sculptured as a Demons face, probably to ward off evil spirits in a temple or as a part of a funeral chamber. Far to heavy to carry for a human, but still hollowed at the back.

A high quality Japanese wooden Buddha, finely gilt and laquered, Edo Period (1603-1868), 19th. century AD.

Elaborately made with fine details and thick gilt.

Size: 64 cm. tall - very impressive.

Condition: Good Very fine, completely intact no losses, with some minor age cracks and couple of small restaurations.

Provenance: Ulf Gudmundsen collection, c. 1950s-2007.

Superbly cast and reworked and finely polished bell with spikes and an archaic design.

A very large bronze vessel, wonderfully engraved with panels and elephant handles, Japanese, likely made for the Chinese market, Edo period, 19th. century.

The vessel with a fine light brown patina with and places with green corrosion.

An exceptional, detailed Japanese netsuke signed my a master, early 19th. century.

A female figure inside a back or sack, dragging it around her one hand and her head protruding. It was made by a master (in kanji-signs 花楽 or 花樂).

The piece is fine decorated overall and delicately signed below. Very beautiful workmanship and among the finest of the period, really.
