Weight: 304 grams = 20 tical

A scarce early type of weight on a hexagonal decorated base with round circular depression mark at the front.

Condition: Choice for the high age, smooth even wear and lovely olive patina.

A fantastic completely matched set of 8 earlier bronze opium weights, all from the same undertype of To's (Straigt up tail and 4-rays), (King Alaungpaya), ca. 1750 AD.

Interesting and scarce set that includes most all the weights that were made - from the massive 20 tical weight all the way down to the tiny and extremely rarely seen 1/4 Tical! This To type has octagonal bases engraved with concenthric lines and fine details to the cast...

A finely matched set of 7 bronze Hamsa bird opium weights, all from the same undertype of Shan hamsas, issued from ca. 1770 AD.

The set includes some nice weights from the massive 20 tical weight all the way down to the scarce 1/4 Tical weight.

This Hamsa-type can be dated to c. 1770-1820. They have normal hexagonal bases, engraved with concenthric lines...

A stunning massive bronze golden Hamsa opium weight of a fine early style, c. 1760-1780 AD.

Weight: 311 = 20 Tical and corresponds to a weight-standard of 15,55 grams, which place it in the mid 18th. century.

The golden Hamsa with lovely details and standing on an large octagonal base stamped with the 9-rayed star.

Condition: Choice Very Fine! Lovely brown patina, some overall wear as always with earlier Golden Hamsas.

A rare variant of a heavy Hamsa bird bronze opium weight, dating c. 1820-1850.

Weight: 317 grams = 20 Tical.

Interestingly this weight has a finely incised small bird on the front of the base, instead of the usual 6-rayed star. The first ever we've had with this rare mark of value.

Condition: Nice Very Fine, choice for type, lovely greyish-brown patina!.

A rare and interesting tiny bronze bronze weight of the rare early Mon duck type, Classic period, c. 1600 AD (or even earlier).

Weight: 5,23 grams = 1/3 Tical.

An important large seated bronze figure of Buddha, Thailand, 15th.- early 16th. century AD.

Lovely buddha in an exceptional quality and condition. He is crowned and seated in the deepest of concentration, in the "Samadhi" - meditation mudra.

Made by very skilled artisans with a fantastic expression; highly arched brows, downcast eyes and the distinctive extra line around the mouth. Three stepped throne with sharp lifted corners. Note that the throne is finely decorated with...

Massive specimen of the old Karaweik bird type 20 tical bronze opium weight, Burma (from Ava, Rangoon, Amarapura), 18th. century.

Impressive Karaweik weight on a large octagonal base, with three neck-ridges, one back cover which is bended strongly backwards up.

Weight: c. 316 grams = 20 tical.

Condition: Nice Very fine for type with a lovely rich brown patina! Very smooth and attractive.

An intriguing and extremely rare Late Shan bronze opium weight of a U tail Hamsa bird c. 1800, but without any kind of ridges or spikes to ether neck or head!

The weight can be classified along with the later Shan bronze weights with hexagonal bases (See Gear group 1+2), but not published in this beautiful bird form. Nice official style, so this is perhaps a Prototype.

Weight: 31,58 grams = 2 tical.

Condition: Extremely fine, choice silverish surfaces.

Lovely early version of the Toe type with the elavated tail and with four instead of the usual three spikes, with a octagonal base engraved with concenthric lines and fine details to the cast.

An attractive late medieval bronze opium weight in the old classical style featuring the elongated octagonal base. Depicting a ‘Toe’ or lionbeast, Burma c. 1550 AD

Note the beside standard circular verification mark at the front of the base, there's also a later 6 rayed star or auxillery mark and added mass between the legs, so this weight was upgraded during time of use. Seldomly seen two different marks on the 10 Tical Toes.
