A fine rendering of the animal on a low rectagular plint, cast in a very high content tin bronze, so that it has a silverish shine. Weight adjustment inserts in the bottom of plint.

A superb condition Hamsa / Kissing Bird Opium Weight, issued around 1830 AD.

A wonderful and very elaborately executed Weight, very rare as a type and quite outstanding comparing it to mother types of birds. The Weight has it nick-name due to the open beak. Hexagonal base and U-V tail.

Weight: 10 Tical - 164,14 grams.

Condition: Superb, some light wear, but very attractive with a warm brown patina - one of the best specimens we've seen of the type.
