An extremely rare bronze Elephant weight from Siam, late 18th.-early 19th. century.

Weight: 65,8 grams, which is heavy for these.

The decorated base is quite distinct from other elephant weights and the style is scarcely seen. It is in fine condition and the quality of bronze is nice too.

While elephant weights are found in Laos and Burma too, the elephant weight’s origins is in north-west Siam, (Thailand today) and spread to Laos.
