An impressive bronze rain drum, weighing 16 kilograms, Dong Son culture, 1st. millenium AD.

A fine Heger 1 type bronze drum with a 12 ray star in the center and concentric panels of circles, points, triangles, comb and saw teeth decoration on the tympanum. The drum is very early and perhaps even ancient and is without the later frogs etc. seen on the drums of the Karen tribe. 2 handles in each side.

Size: 53 cm. wide and 47 cm. wide over the tympanum only...

An early medieval bronze figure of the standing Ganesha, Khmer Bayon Stylistic period, c. 13th. century AD.

Wonderful bronze figure of ganesha stand on a high Lotus throne, cast separately from the figure. A detailed and beautiful cast with a superb Malachite green patina.

Size 17 cm. and weighing ca. 490 grams.

Condition: Choice and intact, partly uncleaned with pockets of red dirt and encrustations with a few cleaning scratches.

An exceptional large bronze ritual bowl, Indonesia, Java, Majapahit Empire, 13th.-14th. century.

As temporary with the Yuan and Early Ming Dynasties, the Majapahit Empire became a dominant world power in the 13th.-15th. century unders ruler like Hayam Wuruk. Majapahit was an empire of 98 tributaries, stretching from Sumatra to New Guinea;consisting of present-day Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, southern Thailand, East Timor, Sulu Archipelago and other parts of the Philippines...

Cambodia, 12th-13th century.

A finely cast figure of a Godess, likeley 'Uma', standing in samabhanga, wearing a sampot with a elaborate hems, holding ritual objects in both hands, richly adorned with jewelry. Her strongly featured face with almond-shaped eyes, and full lips, the head surmounted by a large and elaborate pointed crown.

Quite exceptional for the richness of details and the fine cast. With a very attractive green patina with earthern deposits...

A massive and superb condition Silver-Inlaid Brass Betel Box (Lutuan) Mindanao betel Box, together with two smaller boxes, Philippines, islamic 1880-1900s

Betel chewing was prevalent in the southern Philippines as in much of the rest of Southeast Asia. Wealthier Maranao families on Mindanao were able to afford elaborate silver-inlaid brass betel boxes such as these examples.

This Viss weight is very attractive and large with a tall handle and the square base.

A massive solid silver or heavy silver plate bronze mirror, Cambodia, Khmer Empire, ca. 12th. century AD:

Very large and with a beautiful silver patina. It features a perfect circular form and a recessed side with concentric incised circles tracing the border. Objects like this one were signs of prestige, owned by the wealthy and elite in Khmer society.

The finest and one of the largest we've seen of these, normally of bronze and rarely of silver or silverplate...

A splendid ritual silver necklace, southeastern Asian, ca. late 19th. century AD.- early 20th. cent.

The necklace with engraved bib or collar with fish amid scrolled foliates and geometric borders, traditional sides recalling a bird with downswept engraved tips (joined for mounting by circular and elongated links)

The whole necklace is greatly elongated with two hammered fishes, dangling long beads and a large butterfly below.

Size: Nearly 11 cm. high

Weight: ca. 1550 grams, which should date to the later part of 18th. century.

Condition: Superb, excarvated with smooth wear, fine dark and tinned patina with green dusty highlights, a beautiful piece.

A rarely offered, early bronze opium weight of Burmese origin, 1600 AD!

Highly attractive massive bronze weight of the archaic style with a round base with verticals, beautyfully made, depicting a ‘Toe’ or lionbeast – a mythical animal. Added weightmass between legs and a circular verification mark at the front of base. Very charming early asian antique!

An attractive late medieval bronze opium weight in the old classical style featuring the elongated octagonal base. Depicting a ‘Toe’ or lionbeast, Burma c. 1550 AD

Note the beside standard circular verification mark at the front of the base, there's also a later 6 rayed star or auxillery mark and added mass between the legs, so this weight was upgraded during time of use. Seldomly seen two different marks on the 10 Tical Toes.

A lovely patinated silver box for betel Chewing, Burma or Lanna, 19th. century. High grade silver!

Height 6,5cm, ø 12,5cm; weighing 166g.

Low box for a betel-chewing ingridient, star and flower on the lid, on the sides zigzag pattern, the whole background covered with petal-like nubs. A beautifully incised goat on the bottom.

Condition: Good very fine, warm old patina.
