A rare elaborate style seal, Syria, the Mitanni, ca. 1700-1400 BC.

The seal superb carved in green stone and shows two couples standing facing each other. Looks like it's a man and women. One couple could be sharing palm-wine or beer drinking through two straws, the other couple (where the male is seated), looks to be sharing some foods on a plate. Interesting motif, perhaps marriage rituals!

A MARVELOUS LARGE AND SHARP MESOPOTAMIAN CYLINDER SEAL WITH BANKET SCENE, EARLY DYNASTIC PERIOD, 2900-2350 BC.

The black serpentine seal depicts a seated noble of king in the center, while another figure is at his back pulling out the chair for him to sit.
