A rare Islamic iron oil lamp from Nishapur in Western Asia, dating to around 10th-12th cent AD!

A massive and heavy oil lamp with a very large nozzle, giving room for a sizeable wick. Originally the lamp had rings in the center that made it possible to attach it to a chain or mount it on a wall. So probably a lamp for outdoor use or in a large hall. The type is rare today because many items for everyday use were melted and recycled as other items.
