A scarce and choice Ming Dynasty pottery Tomb figure of a female attendant riding a horse. The figure dates to Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644.

She is clad in a black coat over a dress. In her hand she holds a box. All colors are pigmented. Her hairdress is carefully arranged - as is the mane of the horse.

A matching pair of a female and a male attendants, China, Ming Dynasty, 1369-1644 AD

This pair comes from a very rare group of 'Edged' Tomb pottery figures.

The shape of the figures are sort of edged or flat in the design and they are standing on a pair of rather peculiar bases, we haven't seen before. They are clad in fine two-colour blue-glazed robes. The male with a high black hat, and the female with an ornate headdress.

A utilitarian, buff vessel with a wide, well-defined shoulder, a round, slightly flared foot, a conical neck, a thick mouth, and a ribbed strap handle. The lagynos is an ancient form designed to hold oil (in smaller form) or, as this one, wine. This is a beautiful example of a rare form.

An Etruscan design of genucilia (what Romans called patera), often seen in Etruscan and Roman paintings used for offerings to the gods, dating 4th. century BC.

This type of plate had great fortune in Etruria in the 4th Century B.C. that produced them in large quantities and exported them throughout the Mediterranean basin.
