A superbly sculptured large Jaguar figure in grey vulcanic stone, Costa Rica, dating to 400-800 AD.

The figure is cut and polished out of a piece of lava rock with fine details of head and body.

Size: 89 mm. x 53 mm.

Condition: Choice and intact, some corrosion overall attesting to it's great age. Some earthern deposits uncleaned.

Ex. Johan Dælfeldt Collection, formerly in the Jan Pelle Collection, bought from this collection at the famous A.Br. Rasmussen Auctionsales, held in the 1990's. The figure was bought in S. America in the 1960's by Jan Pelle.
