OUTSTANDING FIGURAL AMULET OF FAIANCE DEPICTING SEKHMET / BASTET, lATE PERIOD CA. 600-300 BC.
A large figure with fantastic details in two colours: Shiny torquise blue and black for the details of the hair and head of the Uraeus above the head. A loop behind and standing against a column inscribed with hieroglyphs reading 'I AM SEKHMET AND BASTET'.
Height: 83 mm.
Condition: Superb! A minor loss to right hand, the faiance perfectly preserved.
The finest faiance figure of Sekhmet we've seen on the market, since this amulet combines size and beauty with an interesting clear inscription.
