A wonderful Mace-head of rounded very slight piriform, fine high stone quality and perfect polishing

This Mace head was done in a particular attractive piece of stone, Haematite, which is rarely seen as material for a Macehead! The Haematite is black silverish with terrific blod-red inclusions. Made in greater Mesopotamia, early-mid 3rd. millennium BC. Fine rounded shape and polished to a glass-like degree.

Size:ca. 50 mm. 260 grams.

Condition: Choice, minor signs of battle use, but basically intact and very attractive in hand!

Provenance: From an old German Private Collection (W.D.), bought in the 1970s-1980s.
