A nice Egyptian wooden Mummy mask, Late Period 716-30 B.C.
An attractive mask; the oval face with full lips and aquiline nose, the central portion of the wig remaining; High proportion remains of white red and black pigment. A female face painted on gesso on wood.
Size: 17,5 cm. tall, 13-14 cm. wide.
Condition: Choice for type, lots of original paint remaining, area of gluing of a few surface fragments to the left of the nose on the chin, othervise, perfect.
Provenance: Jytte Soelberg Private Collection, bought in the 1970-1980 from much older collection of a Danish Engineer, travelling in Egypt in the 1960s.
