A very interesting and quite rare depiction of animal versus Gladiators fight in the Collosseum, late 1st.-early 2nd. century AD.
The fine pottery lamp depicts a scene of Gladiatorial combat on it's discus: A gladiator is spearing a Lion, his comrade is dead beneath him and above him other feline predators!
Size: 11,3 cm. long.
Condition: Choice and intact.
Provenance: Old Danish Private Collection, bought in 1972 at Müntzen und Medallien, Svitzerland.
