Rare Egyptian Stone carving of a Fish, likely Pre-Dynastic, late 4th. millenium BC.

The medium is a sort of limestone, cream colour. The carving is likely of a Tilapia fish - the bulging upturned mouth, the operculum, the long dorsal fin, and the peculia fins. Made with drilled holes for mounting it in the mouth of the fish.

Size: 12,5 cm.

Condition: Intact and fine for the type, with minimal losses and some even wear and uncleaned encrustations to the details.

Ex. Dr. Lammers, Hamburg, aquired prior to 1966.
