A very rare and beautiful Nephrite Jade Bull pendant, provenanced to the world famous Peony Collection, dating to the Late Han Dynasty, 0-200 AD.
The pendant of a fantastic vivid style and of a fine large size. The pendant is carved from a terrific white Jade piece. It depicts a Bull in the center and as typical for this type, only a small hole is drilled in the top.
This particular piece was used as a funeral piece and placed one side down on the deseased, hence one side of the pendant is calcified on the surface in the fine dusty / dry way, while the other side is not.
Size: 66 mm. tall and 63 mm. wide.
Condition: Superb, some fine calcification, especially at one side.
