A rare and authentic Chinese 'flycatcher' Jade pendant in the shape of a Rodent, perhaps a Rat, dating to the Han Dynasty, 200 BC-200 AD.
Beautiful authentic archaic style, carved in White Nephrite. The Rodent with a long curving unnatural body, since thic was likely made from leftover piece from a larger carving. The Rodent finely ornamented on the surface. The piece was practically used to strike down flies and would have had horsehair attached to the spout (see the opening).
Size: 83 mm. long.
