A rare and exceptional type of Battleaxe, according to Brøndsted dating to the latest fase of the battleaxes, ca. 2300-2000 BC.
Elaborately made axe with outswayed double blades, finely polished to imitate the copper battleaxes of early European bronzeage. Also called a Helbard type.
Size: 14 cm. long and 6,2 cm over the blade.
Condition: Choice, very nice for type with original patina, small irrigularity at edge is ancient and of no importance.
Provenance. In many Danish Private Collections, since the 1960s.
