A matching pair of a female and a male attendants, China, Ming Dynasty, 1369-1644 AD.
This pair come from a very rare group of 'Edged' Tomb pottery figures.
The shape of the figures are sort of 'edged' or flat and they are standing on some rather peculiar bases. They are clad in fine glazed robes in cobolt blue and torquoise colors.
The male with a high black hat, and the female with an ornate headdress on the attachable head. He holds his masters Ming Hat and she is carrying a teapot in front of her chest.
Size: Large and massive figures, the male ca. 32-33 cm. high and the female around 31 cm. (12,8 / 12,.2 inches).
Condition: A choice pair! Wonderful glossy glassy glaze and exceptional details in pigment. A few very minor chips to the glaze.
